Imagination leads the way…
Children love to discover and in our outdoor area there is plenty of opportunity.
The Rocking Horse Nursery’s large and fully enclosed outdoor space comprises different areas for investigation, stimulation, adventure and play. A generous proportion of the garden benefits from an all-weather surface which allows the children to get outdoors every day. In addition to our all-weather play areas there is a secret garden - complete with story shed housing a variety of natural resources - and, at one end, the garden is flanked by our tiered sensory area which all combine in offering the children a whole host of awe inspiring and wonderful things…
We have homes for insects and bugs amongst the planting tubs where seasonal planting takes place and the children learn how things grow and get excited in anticipation of the harvesting and sampling of our produce. Mud kitchens are a firm favourite for mixing, experimenting and fuelling young imaginations. And then there’s our Forest School base camp where the children can come together and learn more about the great outdoors.
Away from the nursery, the children get the opportunity to venture further with walks in and around the local area.
Visits to the park are always popular and the children are always closely supervised and watched over to ensure their safety at all times.
The nursery’s opening times are:
Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm
(Excluding public holidays)
